ROYAL EXHIBITION BUILDING
& CARLTON GARDENS
The Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show offers a number of retail site options to suit your requirements ranging from 18sqm indoor sites, outdoor 36sqm ‘all inclusive’ package options up to 100sqm ‘space only’ sites. These sites give you the opportunity to showcase and retail your products and services to 100,000 plus people; an impressive, engaged audience on a unique platform. Read below for further details and pricing on each of the site types.
These sites are marked as light blue squares on the show map and are located upstairs in the Royal Exhibition Building. These sites are for retailing floral, home and garden related products and services.
They are approximately 4.5m wide x 4m deep and come with two white Melamine side walls and a rear wall that stand at 2.4m high. Two spot lights and one standard mounted event sign is also included with each site.
Power is not included with these sites but can be ordered through the official supplier for the Show. Details of how to order power, additional lighting and props will be included in the Exhibitor Manual available later in the year.
These sites are marked as dark blue circles on the show map & are located in two areas; the Southern Drive, between the Royal Exhibition Building (REB) & Carlton Gardens South & in the Western Forecourt between the Royal Exhibition Building & Rathdowne Street. These sites are 6m wide x 3m deep & come with a 6m x 3m marquee including a custom exhibitor gable sign (see example above), one 10amp power outlet and one fluorescent light. As these sites are situated on hard surface exhibitors are not required to lay protective flooring.
These sites are marked as orange circles on the show map & are located throughout the Carlton Gardens. Each site measures 6m x 6m & comes with a 6m x 6m marquee with white canvas back wall and two 3m side walls (the front 3m side sections are not canvassed) plus a custom exhibitor gable sign (see example above). Your package also includes one 10amp power outlet, one fluorescent light & protective flooring for the whole site including the space from the pathway to the front of your marquee. Access for set up is from 7am Wednesday 14th March until 6pm Tuesday 20th March. Pack up to be complete 6pm Wednesday 28th March.
Placement
Marquees will be set back 1m to 2m from the footpath, depending on the location of surrounding trees, the surface slope etc.
Marquee Weighting / Pegging
Due to the Tree Protection Zone within the Carlton Gardens, sites within 4.5m of a tree will require weights to secure their marquee, as opposed to pegs. The weights will be positioned on each corner of the marquee.
Additional Space
Please do not assume that the space outside your marquee is available for use, even if it was used in previous years. If you wish to request the use of additional space for the purpose of enhancing your display you must submit your request to Event Management for consideration.
The setup of the site, to suit the needs of the individual exhibitor and their products, is the responsibility of the exhibitor after booking the space. Supplier contact details for additional set up products required by you such as marquees, protective flooring, power, lighting etc will be set out in the Exhibitor Manual available later in the year. If you wish to place a marquee on your Space Only site you must order it through the Show’s official marquee supplier, Harry the Hirer, to ensure it is installed correctly according to the City of Melbourne license conditions. No other marquee supplier will be granted access to install any marquees at the Show.
Site Specifics & Conditions
Some of these sites have specification that apply to them. Please contact the Show Organiser for further details prior to lodging your application.
All retail Space Only sites, where a design is not utilized to protect the grass, must use No Fuss Protective Flooring to protect the grass in all areas where foot traffic is expected. If you order a marquee to be placed on your Retail Space Only site it will be set back approximately 1m to 2m from the pathway so please ensure you order sufficient No Fuss Flooring to cover the space between the path and your marquee as well. Contact details for No Fuss Flooring will be included within the Exhibitor Manual.
You will be responsible for all costs associated with your order of No Fuss Flooring. If you book a Space Only site with the intention of creating a garden display or other type of set up on it you must seek approval from Event Management by supplying a design plan and detail.
If you would prefer to install your own method of protective flooring for your Space Only site you must submit the product details and installation method to Show Organisers for approval prior to bump in. Artificial turf is not permitted to be used as a form of grass protection for display purposes.
