Applications for the 2025 Border Garden Competition are now closed.

The Border Garden Competition presents an opportunity to showcase creativity, innovation & flair, with ultimate success providing a vehicle to promote your business. 2025 will see the 4th edition of the Border Garden Competition.

London College of Garden Design Melbourne (LCGD) is delighted to support this exciting competition to help budding new garden designers and experts to show what they can achieve with plants in a tiny space. Based at the Royal Botanic Gardens (Victoria Melbourne Gardens), LCGD delivers professional skills training for those aiming for a career in the landscape design profession and has many of Australia’s leading designers and landscape experts as teachers.

The competition offering those involved a fantastic opportunity to promote their creativity, innovation and horticultural understanding to an engaged horticulturally-inspired audience of over 100,000 attendees.

The task at hand? We want you to design a 2.4×2.4m garden that shows off your skills of planting design, plant arrangement and horticulture for this planting design for a small space garden. Show us your perfect border. You might decide to create a wildlife friendly design, a water wise planting for summer droughts, or a party planting for an urban garden space.

The Border Garden Competition will be open to applications from all interested designers until Friday 13th December. Applications can be made by emailing your submission as a PDF digital copy to info@lcgd.com.au (more details on submission in Competitor Brief).
