Beyond Blue

Beyond Blue is proud to be the official charity partner for the 2020 Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show.  We are excited to share our Healthy Families messages.  We want to encourage all children and their families to be not only physically healthy, but mentally healthy and getting outside into nature is a great way of starting to plant this seed of positive mental health in your life.

We would love children and families of all ages to come visit our Beyond Blue Charity Garden space (A80) and get involved in the many fun interactive activities we will have set up throughout the five days.

Come take part in Beyond Blue’s interactive stage area with activities including kids mindfulness, indigenous bush tucker and wellness sessions.  Exciting activities include exploring our families drawing, colouring and writing marquee, where kids can help create our growing Butterfly Tree Wall.  On the lawns we will have giant Snakes and Ladders, giant Jenga and football target games set up.  Visit our special Beyond Blue Photo Booth where you can capture your special memories of the day.  Or why not just relax on one of our beanbags in our chillout area.  Plus every child that visits our Beyond Blue garden will be given a show bag to take home with them.

Everyone that registers to take part in our Beyond Blue activities will receive dedicated Beyond Blue newsletter articles with special content on our Healthy Families program and go into the draw to win an amazing Funky Monkey Monkey Bar set.

“We’re so excited to be partnering with the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show. Getting out into nature and taking part in a physical activity like gardening is a fantastic way to help look after your mental health. Together we hope to encourage more people to be active and take care of their mental health, as they would their physical health. Come and check out the Beyond Blue Charity Garden at this year’s show.” Georgie Harman, Beyond Blue Chief Executive Officer

Beyond Blue are giving people the confidence to support those around them, and making anxiety, depression and suicide part of everyday conversations. As well as tackling stigma, prejudice and discrimination, they’re breaking down the barriers that prevent people from speaking up and reaching out.

Beyond Blue’s Healthy Families program gives parents, grandparents and carers information to support the children and young people in their life. It’s also there to help them to take care of their own mental health and wellbeing.
