Scotts Osmocote Spring Gardening Guide

Around The Garden

In the veggie patch

  • Spring is one of the best times to start or revitalise a vegetable garden. Mix through plenty of compost or Scotts Osmocote Compost Premium Soil Improver before planting out a huge range of warm season crops including; tomatoes, strawberries, corn, beetroot, cucumbers, zucchini and beans.
  • Amongst your edibles plant basil, oregano, rosemary, sage, thyme and marjoram

Seasonal Colour

  • Once the risk of frost has passed – it’s time to plant snapdragons, marigolds, petunias and geraniums.
  • Zinnias, dahlias and sunflowers are best planted in mid spring for lots of summer colour.
  • For cascades of colour in hanging baskets – that bees adore, try portulacas, spreading petunias and alyssum.
  • Apply Scotts Osmocote Controlled Release Fertiliser for Pots and Planters to keep your flowering displays at their best.

Lawn Care Tips

  • Lawns come alive in spring after being dormant over the cooler months. Topdress and fertilise your lawn in spring with  Scotts Lawn Builder All Purpose Lawn Fertiliser and a Scotts spreader to easily and quickly apply fertiliser to your whole lawn.
  • Aerate and de-thatch your lawn now. Aerate with a garden fork and de-thatch with a garden rake.
