NADIA COLE (PLATYLOBIUM)

An elegant contemporary garden, “consciousness” was designed with both aesthetics and environmental impact in mind. The use of locally and sustainably sourced materials, such as recycled brick, reclaimed timber, and rammed earth, reduces the carbon footprint of construction. The garden features a variety of Australian plants, including Indigenous species from Melbourne, used in innovative ways to challenge traditional native garden design. One notable feature is a low hedge of Common Correa. The garden also prioritises biodiversity, with local plant species selected to provide food and habitat for a range of living things, from birds and reptiles to insects and amphibians. This outdoor space contributes to the local ecosystem while creating a unique sense of place.
