Show Program 2024

28 ANNIKA ZETTERMAN AND KAJSA BJÖRNE SWEDEN Hailing from Sweden, “New Nordic Notes” finds inspiration in pioneering spirits of the past, celebrating the creative legacies while embracing a sense of cultural identity and diversity. Rooted in the essence of local and traditional materials, both hard and soft landscaping elements, the garden pays homage to centuries of proven success in functionality and aesthetic appeal. By delving into the historical narratives of the surroundings and design movements, the design weaves stories that resonate with the land and its people, passing on relevant messages for generations to come. The garden includes meticulously crafted spaces that invite visitors to rest and relax, where inspiration can be found. The front decking offers a serene retreat, where one can gaze into the sky or dip their feet into a nearby stream, while a birdbath stands as a testament to our care for wildlife. In the rear, a pergola-shaded daybed beckons with distinct design patterns, centred LEARNMORE around a circular water recess symbolising the Nordic lakes. Amidst birch trees, anemones, and ferns, visitors are encouraged to write their own stories, finding solace in their “Smultronställe” –a sanctuary free from stress and brimming with inspiration. The garden unfolds with nods to Nordic traditions, from the ornamental gate that welcomes guests to the weaving hearts that adorn vertical surfaces, each handcrafted with reverence for heritage.
