JOEL BARNETT – INSTYLE GARDENS

Titled “Mindset”, this garden aims to inspire people to focus on positivity and appreciate the little things in life. This beautiful oasis is complete with a dining/fireplace zone, a lawn area with bean bags and a projector screen, and a bench seat under a stunning cloud-pruned Olive tree. Additionally, there is an outdoor shower/concrete bath combo, promoting the importance of spending time outside in nature.

While negativity does exist, the garden features a small section around the back solely dedicated to purple foliage plants, black pavers, and a rusted steel sculpture to symbolize the abundance of positivity in life.

“Mindset” follows the trend of natural-looking designs, with perennials as the most popular style. The use of architectural concrete and natural stone for walling and paving has also significantly increased in construction over the past 25 years. The push towards reducing waste and recycling products is another improvement that deserves more recognition.
