“Between Moments” is designed as a sanctuary for physical, mental, and spiritual well-being, inspired by the Australian bush. The space blends traditional sauna design with natural elements like water, rocks, and native plants, creating a harmonious environment that promotes balance and relaxation. The garden features iconic Australian species, including Eucalypts, Banksias, and Kangaroo Paws, alongside grasses like Kangaroo Grass and Coastal Spear Grass, which add texture and support local wildlife. A natural swimming pond, with a gentle waterfall, enhances the serene atmosphere while aerating the water and supporting aquatic life. Stone pathways meander around the pond, inviting exploration and reflection.
At the heart of the retreat, the sauna offers panoramic views of the tranquil garden, its glass panels seamlessly integrating indoor comfort with the outdoors. The earthy scent of spruce and aspen, combined with the soothing sounds of water and rustling leaves, fosters a deep connection to nature. “Between Moments” is more than a beautiful space—it’s a holistic retreat that nourishes both body and spirit. This garden offers visitors the opportunity to step away from daily life, find stillness, and rejuvenate in the peaceful pauses between life’s busier moments.

What’s the one element of your show garden you’re most excited for people to see?
I definitely think it’s the recreation pond.
What are your favourite current trends or themes in garden design?
I’m loving seeing the increase in the amount of native plants used in all types of garden designs.
What’s your favorite plant, flower, or feature in this year’s garden, and why?
Definitely the recreation pond. I think they’re an amazing addition to any backyard. Not only can you swim in them, but they attract so much wildlife to a backyard, like birds, frogs and insects.
What’s a gardening tip or trick you swear by?
Always add an element of water to a garden. It doesn’t have to be a pond or waterfall, it could be a little bowl of water for lizards and insects to drink from. It’s amazing the amount of wildlife that will be attracted to your garden when there’s a source of water.
What’s the one tool or piece of equipment you can’t live without?
My excavator. It’s so helpful on site.
If you could invite anyone (past or present) to stroll through your show garden, who would it be and why?
My Grandparents. They were all such avid gardeners.
