Each year RMIT Fashion Design students are given a theme on which to base their amazing and creative plant-based designs. This competition forms part of the students’ curriculum for their third year of study, as a part of a design studio in which they explore exhibition as a mode for contemporary fashion enterprise. The designs are displayed in the Great Hall of Flowers for the five days of the Show at site C33, providing visitors with a very different insight into fashion and flowers.
This year’s garments will be inspired by the National Gallery of Victoria’s Viktor&Rolf: Fashion Artists Exhibition.
In 2017 RMIT’s emerging fashion designers were recognised for their floral couture ingenuity with the RMIT Student Floral Fashion Design Competition awarded to Grace Cooper.
